Simple Ingredients in This Easy Beef Teriyaki Recipe

The best part is that lettuce cups are a great way to get your vegetables while still enjoying all the taste of protein. I love these because they’re both nutritious and tasty!

Let’s explore the ingredients:

Olive Oil. I like to use olive oil for a lit of my cooking. However, you can use sesame seed oil for this recipe if you prefer.

Ground Beef. For this recipe, I like to use extra lean ground beef like 90% lean.

Onion. I like to use finely diced onion for this. However, I have used red, yellow, white, or Vidalia onions in this recipe with success.

Ginger. You can use fresh ginger and mince it up fine or use the kind from the squeeze tube. They both work well.

Garlic. This can be fresh cloves garlic minced or jarred. They both add great flavor.

Teriyaki Sauce. Try a few varieties to find the one you like best. I have a link in the recipe for my favorite brand. You can take the time to make your own teriyaki sauce, but I like to save extra time with this recipe and use pre-made. However, homemade teriyaki sauce would work just fine in this recipe.

Green Onion. Slice this up thin for a garnish.

Sesame Seeds. Sesame seeds have a mild, sweet, and nutty flavor. Lightly toasted these tiny bites are pretty and tasty as a garnish on top.

Serve this teriyaki beef on lettuce, over white rice, brown rice, or even in a tortilla wrap. The perfect mixture of Asian flavors in a quick and easy recipe. Add your favorite vegetable like broccoli or cauliflower and cook them in the microwave while you quickly cook up the beef mixture.

How to Make Beef Teriyaki Skillet in Minutes

In a large saucepan add one teaspoon of olive oil over medium-high heat, then add the ground beef, onion, garlic, and ginger to the skillet.

Break up the meat as it is browning in the pan. Cook until the meat is cooked through (no longer pink) and the onion is tender and translucent. This will take approximately 6 minutes.

Add the teriyaki sauce to the ground beef mixture. Hint, spray the measuring cup with non-stick spray and the sauce will slide right out. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer and let cook for 3 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.

Serve in Romaine lettuce, on Butter lettuce, over rice, or even in a tortilla wrap.
