30 Minute Meal

It’s Friday night and you’re exhausted after a long week of work. You don’t want to think about what your dinner should be, but it needs to be delicious, easy, and nutritious so you can feed your family without feeling guilty for not having more time in the kitchen. This is where beef teriyaki noodle bowls come in.

This dish combines the flavors of teriyaki sauce with beef, all in one bowl. It’s perfect for those days when you need an energy boost. They are perfect because they take just 20 minutes or less to cook and pack a punch with flavor that will satisfy the whole family.

It takes just minutes to make. Heat the water for the ramen noodles while you are busy frying the saucy ground beef. Your meal will be ready in 20 minutes or less.

Ground Beef Teriyaki and Ramen Noodle Bowl Ingredients

Olive Oil. You can use any oil for this recipe. I generally reach for my olive oil.

Ground Beef. For this recipe, I like to use extra lean ground beef like 90% lean. If you use something like an 80/20 ground chuck for this recipe, then just cook up the hamburger mixture and drain off the fat before adding the sauce.

Onion. This is a forgiving recipe. Use what you have on hand. I have used red, white and yellow onions and they all have worked well for flavoring this dish.

Ginger. If you happen to have fresh, go ahead and use that. However, if you do not have fresh, no need to run to the store to get it. I get the squeeze tube of ginger and use that. Hint: if you freeze the squeezable ginger in small plastic bags in 1 tablespoon amounts, you can add that to this recipe. It will last in the freezer a few months.

Garlic. I just used minced garlic from a jar. I always have a jar in the refrigerator. It helps make adding garlic quick and easy.

Teriyaki Sauce. I use one that I like the taste of and one that is thick.

Green Onion. This is used for garnish, and I like to slice them up thin.

Sesame Seeds. Just a few sprinkled on top for garnish is pretty and adds just a tiny hint of a nutty flavor.

How to Make Ramen Noodle Beef Teriyaki

Begin by adding the olive oil to a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, garlic, and ginger. Continue cooking and breaking up the ground beef until it is cooked through. This will take about 6 minutes.

Add the teriyaki sauce and bring to a simmer and let it cook a few minutes.

In the meantime, boil the ramen noodles in water and cook until just done. Drain and add to the ground beef mixture. Toss to coat the pasta with the beef.

Serve. I like to add the sliced green onion and sesame seeds as a garnish.

Recipe Variation

This is a perfect recipe to add some vegetable. Add a cup or two of steamed broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, or a combination of vegetables.

Swap out the ground beef for thinly sliced steak.

While I love the ramen noodles with this recipe, you can use thin spaghetti instead if you prefer.

Make Ahead Easy Recipe

I like to make the beef mixture ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator for quick meals and snacks during the week. All I do is boil the ramen noodles and heat up the beef. A delicious meal in minutes.

You can freeze the ground beef teriyaki mixture in an airtight container for up to 4 months. When ready to use just thaw and reheat. Boil the ramen noodles and prep the fresh green onions and you are all set.

Ramen Noodle Bowl

At our house, we love easy weeknight meals, and this ramen noodle bowl is no exception. Take less than 15 minutes to make the ground beef teriyaki and mix it with the noodles. You’ll just love how the saucy beef mixture coats the pasta.
