Mixed Fruit Makes this Easy Slaw

Want to know what the secret of this recipe is? The real surprise in this one is the addition of mixed fruit, or any fruit of your choice!

I use a simple prepackaged cup of mixed fruit, preferably peaches and pears. However, you can pick whatever suits your family or whatever works best for your meat choice!

Pear for Slaw

Vinaigrette Coleslaw

My family is a sucker for the creamy coleslaw variety, but this vinaigrette based one has a major wow-factor! This family favorite is so simple, just mix two parts of your favorite vinegar (we use rice vinegar) to one part of your favorite extra virgin olive oil.

What is the Difference Between Rice Vinegar and Seasoned Rice Vinegar?

I was once none-the-wiser when it came to Rice Vinegar. However, the difference is very simple. Seasoned rice vinegar is pre-seasoned with salt and sometimes sugar or corn syrup. The choice is yours between the two, I like the pre-seasoned as I usually still add more salt, but you can choose unseasoned to allow you more flavor control.

Cilantro Lime Coleslaw

Cilantro is a great herb to add to a pork dish, salads, or a Latin inspired recipe. In this salad, it adds a bold herb flavor and plays well with the fruity background. Always taste test an herb first, especially cilantro, as it can have a soapy aftertaste to some palates.
