Our family’s favorite version of Glazed Cinnamon Sugar Pull Apart Monkey Bread uses canned biscuit dough. It is incredibly easy to prepare even for first-time bakers.
No need to worry about homemade dough. Just cut the biscuit pieces into bite-sized dough balls, coat them in a cinnamon-sugar mixture, and pop them into a greased bundt pan or tube pan. While it bakes, the dough rises into a warm, gooey, and golden-brown masterpiece, creating that irresistible pull-apart texture.
It’s the best monkey bread recipe we’ve made, and it always disappears fast!
What is Monkey Bread?
Monkey bread, also known as pull-apart bread, is a sweet, often sticky pastry made from small pieces of dough that are typically coated in melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar.
The dough is arranged in a bundt or tube pan, baked until golden brown, and then served warm, allowing everyone to pull apart the bite-sized pieces with ease. Many versions have a caramelized cinnamon-sugar mixture that creates a gooey coating. It’s a delicious treat that’s popular for breakfast, brunch, or holiday mornings.
While many people make monkey bread using canned biscuit dough for convenience, there are also homemade versions made with rich dough or even pizza dough.
It’s often enjoyed with a glaze or drizzle of icing and can be customized with nuts, raisins, or other flavors. Monkey bread is a great treat that’s fun to eat, easy to make, and perfect for sharing with family and friends!
