How to Make Easy Roasted Asparagus in the Air Fryer?

Its really a rather simple process. Just clean and trim a bunch of asparagus.

Trimming asparagus is a straightforward process. Begin by taking one spear of asparagus at each end and gently bending it until it naturally snaps. This usually occurs at the point where the tough, woody stem transitions to the tender part. Dispose of the woody ends and repeat this process for the rest of the asparagus spears. Alternatively, you can opt to use a sharp knife, cutting off approximately 1-2 inches from the bottom of the stalks to trim the asparagus.

Use paper towels to dry off the excess water. This will help the asparagus crisp in the air fryer.

Add your seasonings such as salt, black pepper, a sprinkle of parmesan, or lemon zest are all great options.

Coat with olive oil or avocado oil if you desire for extra flavor, but it is not necessary when using an air fryer.

Place it in in a single layer the air fryer basket and cook for just 5 minutes at 400 degrees F.

At the 5 minutes, use a tongs to rearrange the asparagus spears to assure even cooking.

Continue cooking 5 minutes.

Check for doneness at the 10 minute mark. It should be done.

Every air fryer is different so the cooking time can vary. Also, thin asparagus will cook faster than thick asparagus. If not quite done enough to your liking, cook another 2 to 3 minutes.

That’s it. Serve with your favorite main dish or sauce for the perfect side dish. If you love to make veggies in the air fryer, I urge you to give this air fryer zucchini a try air fryer mushrooms, or air fryer sweet potato fries.
