Springtime Asparagus

Springtime means one thing, asparagus! I would go pick asparagus stalks all over our farm with my father-in-law every spring. It was so fresh and delicious. It is a quick and easy side dish and probably my favorite spring vegetable.

What Does Asparagus Taste Like?

It has a rather strong flavor on its own. A bit grassy with a sweet fresh green taste. Some people compare the taste to broccoli, artichoke, or fresh green beans. The flavor of asparagus is much bolder though.

Yet, when paired with other simple ingredients, the taste can easily change. It will soak up other flavors easily during the cooking process.

What is an Air Fryer?

An air fryer is a small convection oven that has hot air circulating. It heats the food by distributing dry hot air around the food.

This cooking process is much like deep frying without the oil. The result is crisp food. Since this appliance circulates dry heat all around the food it cooks up quickly with a perfect texture.
