Kitchen Essentials

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Fruit Juice such as orange, apple, or a blend of your favorite vegetable and juice blends
  • 3-5 Tablespoons Honey or maple syrup, adjust according to sweetness preference
  • 4 Tablespoons Gelatin Powder
  • Fresh fruit pieces or citrus zest for added texture and flavor optional

Instructions

  • Prepare the Juice Mixture. In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the 1 ½ Cups of juice. Add in the honey and adjust to your taste. Stir until combined.
  • Into a small bowl, add the remaining ½ cup of juice. Gradually whisk in the gelatin powder, ensuring no lumps form and whisk until the mixture is smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into the warm juice and stir until combined. When the juice mixture is hot, but not boiling, pour into molds.
  • Once the gelatin is fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth, carefully pour the juice mixture into your chosen gummy molds (like gummy bear molds or a shallow loaf pan). For bite-sized pieces, you can also use a glass dish or baking tray.
  • Place the filled molds on a baking sheet and let them set in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until firm and chewy.
  • Pop the gummies out of the molds or slice them into bite-sized pieces if using a dish. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
  • Once set, gently pop the gummies out of the molds or cut them into squares if using a dish. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
