What is the best way to cook dumplings?
Dumplings can be cooked in water or right in a soup or stew. Make sure that the contents are boiling, then begin adding dumplings one teaspoon at a time. Cook them until they float, then an additional three minutes.
Can you Freeze Chicken and Dumplings?
Absolutely! In fact, if I plan on freezing chicken soup, I prefer to make an old fashioned chicken and dumplings soup for freezing. The dumplings hold up so much better than noodles. Just make sure to cool the soup before adding it to an airtight container and freezing. Note: I would not freeze the drop dumpling batter before it is cooked. Cook it first, cool it down, pack in an airtight container, then freeze.
