Cinnamon Sugar Baked Churros: A Crunchy Twist on a Classic
These homemade cinnamon sugar baked churros have all the delicious flavor of fried churros. But, they are made right in the oven with simple ingredients and a little bit of baking magic.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a cookie sheet or sheet pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it with cooking spray.
In a medium saucepan, add the water, butter, brown sugar, and salt. Heat over low heat, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts and the water boils.

Add the purpose flour all at once, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Then, mix in the eggs one at a time, stirring vigorously until fully incorporated. The dough should be thick and glossy.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Pipe and Bake
Transfer the dough to a large piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
Pipe strips of dough (about 4 inches long) onto the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
Coat in Cinnamon Sugar
In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon to make the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
1/2 Cup Granulated Sugar, 1 Tablespoon Ground Cinnamon
Brush the warm churros with melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar.
Air fryer version. Cook at 375°F for 8-10 minutes until crisp. Mini churros. Pipe smaller churro bites instead of full-sized strips. Puff pastry sheet hack. Instead of choux pastry, cut a puff pastry sheet with a pizza cutter and bake.
Serve and Enjoy
