Ingredients
3PoundsChicken Wings Split with tips removed, or you could leave them whole
2TablespoonsButter Melted
2TeaspoonsSalt
½TeaspoonBlack Pepper
1TeaspoonGarlic Powder
1TeaspoonPaprika
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line two half sheet pans with aluminum foil, add the wire racks.
Chicken Wings: Here you can use fresh wings or frozen. Often, when I purchase a fresh tray, they are already split with the tips removed and the flats and drumettes cut apart as well. However, frozen chicken wings are even faster and work perfectly fine. They will just take longer to bake in the oven as they have the thaw first. If you prefer, you can leave them whole.
Melt the butter, add the spices, and toss the wings to coat them.
Arrange the wings on a single layer on the two wire racks.
Bake in the oven for 40 minutes. The wings are fully cooked at this point and the skin will be golden in color and crispy.
Notes
Storing Leftover Chicken
This will keep in the refrigerator for up to 5 days when stored in an airtight container. You can also freeze for up to 4 months. When you are ready to eat, you can reheat in the microwave or the oven.
How Long to Reheat Chicken Wings in the Oven?
Reheating chicken wings in the oven is a great way to reheat leftover wings. Just preheat the oven temperature to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Add the wings on a sheet pan in a single layer. Bake the wings five minutes on one side, turn them and bake the other side for another 5 minutes. A meat thermometer inserted should read 165°F.Alternatively, you could add a wire rack to a half sheet pan and skip the step of turning the wings halfway through the baking time. The heat from the oven will be able to get around the entire wing.
