Instructions
Begin by cleaning the mushrooms. Using a damp paper towel, gently wipe each mushroom to remove any dirt or debris. This ensures that your mushrooms are clean and ready to soak up all the delicious flavors.
24 Ounces Mushrooms
Add the butter to the slow cooker.
1 Stick Butter
If you prefer, in a small bowl, you can mix together the ranch seasoning mix and minced garlic until well combined. However, I just add the ingredients to the slow cooker and give it a stir once the butter has melted.
1 Packet Ranch Seasoning Mix, 4 Cloves Garlic
Place the cleaned mushrooms in the slow cooker and sprinkle the ranch garlic mixture over the top of the mushrooms.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low heat for 2-3 hours, or until the mushrooms are tender and infused with flavor. Give it a stir once of twice as it is cooking.
Once cooked, serve the mushrooms hot. Garnished with freshly chopped fresh parsley for a pop of color and freshness if desired.
Recipe Tips and Slow Cooker Mushrooms Recipe Variations
• You can use whole mushrooms or sliced. • For a richer flavor, try using a combination of baby bella and porcini mushrooms. • If you prefer a creamier sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream to the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking. • Don't be tempted to add a lot of liquid to the slow cooker, as mushrooms release a significant amount of moisture as they cook. Some recipes call for beef broth, I don’t add anything. The melted butter and the juices from the mushrooms create a lovely sauce. No need for any extra liquid. • Next time you make this recipe, try adding a splash of red wine or white wine for an extra layer of depth and complexity. • For a stove top version of this recipe, simply melt butter in a skillet over medium heat, add the cleaned mushrooms, ranch seasoning mix, and minced garlic, and cook until the mushrooms are tender, stirring occasionally. About 15-20 minutes total. • Experiment with different herbs and seasonings to customize the flavor to your liking. Fresh thyme or rosemary would be excellent additions to this dish. • Add a package (14.4 ounces) frozen pearl onions.
