Balsamic vinegar glaze, also known as balsamic reduction, is a concentrated and syrupy sauce made from balsamic vinegar. It’s created by simmering balsamic vinegar until it thickens and becomes more viscous. Balsamic glaze has a concentrated flavor—both sweet and tangy.
1TablespoonBrown Sugarmaple syrup, or other added sugar sweeteners to balance the acidity optional
Instructions
Pour the vinegar into a small saucepan and bring to a boil using medium-high heat. If adding a sweetener, add this now.
2 Cups Balsamic Vinegar, 1 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Until the vinegar thickens, and coats the back of a spoon, and is reduced to about 1/2 cup.
Set it aside and let it cool for 10 minutes. It will thicken a bit more into a thick syrup as it cools.
