Instructions
In a large skillet add the ground beef. Cook over medium heat, breaking apart the meat into small pieces. Cook until the hamburger is cooked through. About 7 minutes. Set aside to cool to room temperature. About 15 minutes.
If you purchased a bag of pre-shredded cabbage that contains shredded carrots too, it is quick to use that and just add it to a bowl. If you are shredding your own, shred the cabbage into fine pieces and add to a large bowl. Optionally, you can shred a carrot too.
Next, add the cooked and cooled ground beef, honey, and teriyaki sauce. Mix to combine.
In a small bowl, add the egg and lightly beat with a fork to mix. This will be used to seal the edges of the egg roll wrapper.
On a clean surface, layout 1 egg roll wrapper, place approximately 1 tablespoon of the ground beef mixture inside the wrapper. Starting at the bottom corner, roll on a diagonal tucking in the edges. Egg the egg wash to the edge of the wrapper. Continue rolling to the end and seal the edge.
Continue adding the filling to the egg roll wrappers until all the filling is used. Place on a baking sheet or plate while you are rolling the additional beef egg rolls.
In a pan large enough to hold 3 cups of oil and approximately 4 or 5 egg rolls cooking. Heat oil to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Gently place about 4 or 5 egg rolls in the oil and fry for a minute or two on one side. Use tongs flip each one over and fry on the other side. You might have to flip a couple of times frying on both sides until golden in color. Cooking time total is about 3-5 minutes.
