10TablespoonsButtersoftened at room temperature
3TablespoonsParsleychopped
½CupCheese Gratedcan use Mozzarella or Parmesan
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
If you have a larger load of French Bread, cut that in half lengthwise. If using a baguette, which is about 2-inches around, there is no need to cut in half lengthwise.
Next, cut slices in the bread almost all the way through into about 1-inch slices. If you used the bread halves, you could keep those intact and continue mixing the garlic butter mixture below and spread on the bread halves. After it is baked, you can slice into smaller pieces.
In a bowl, mix the softened butter, garlic, parmesan, and parsley.
Use a butter knife or offset spatula to smear a generous amount of the garlicky butter mixture over the cut ends of each slice.
If you have any butter mixture leftover, smear that on the top and sides of the bread.
Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, and place on a baking sheet.
Bake on the center rack for 15 minutes. You can remove your garlic bread at this point if you like yours soft and tender.
If you like your slices golden brown on the edges with a crispy crust, open the foil on top and continue baking another 10 minutes.
How do you store leftover garlic bread after cooking?
Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, paper bags, a beeswax wrap, or place in a bread box to prevent drying out.The best way to store freshly baked garlic bread or any bread for that matter that will be eaten in a few days is at room temperature. It is safe to store the bread at room temperature for a day or two. After that, it is best to discard. It will be quite stale and dried out.To reheat it, simply place the garlic bread in the foil bag on a baking sheet and heat it in a preheated oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 10 minutes.
